The artist uses sand for texture but eliminates the sand around his lone figure. The light, shadows and colors in this painting are very strong. The wood comprising the shack is sun bleached making the colors in the shade more exotic. The shaded interior is comprised of unimaginable shades of red and blue.This painting is in very good vintage condition and does not even need a cleaning. There are no repairs, no inpainting, etc. Mead Schaeffer is a major, American Illustrator who painted 46 covers for the Saturday Evening Post alone in the 1940s and 1950s.
