Original Comic illustration Paul Webb Mountain Boys Christmas Outing in Jalopy

Original painting by Paul Webb featuring the Mountain Boys. Featuring a Christmas outing in the old jalopy. Sign says slow, they were fine until they hit a rock and things went hay wire. Packages are in up in the air, as is Dad and Baby. Published calendar image by Brown and Bigelow, also featured in Esquire magazine.

Measures 16 X 21-1/2, in great condition. Witty, fun-loving Paul Webb created Zeke, Willie, Oncle Rafe and the whole clan of Mountain folks back in the early'30's.

His first cartoon featuring three hillbillies and "grandmaw" was just another cartoon as far as Webb was concerned. But it made the Saturday Evening Post so Webb quickly prepared another. After more than 20 years Esquire was still featuring his hillbillies.
